Kazimierz Dolny. A stunning Renessaince town of lubelskie region. | IN MY LENS

Though I was planning to visit Prague for May holiday, I forgot that my toddler is also a human and needs an ID to be able to go abroad! So we decided to go visit a part of Poland we've never visited before, called lubelszczyzna (this word is a killer, right? ;)) or easier lubelskie.

Plan wycieczki, z punktem początkowym w Gdańsku i końcowym w Zakopanem, przedstawiał się tak - z noclegami w Kazimierzu Dolnym, Lublinie i Zamościu:

This is the plan of the whole trip (starting in Gdańsk, at the sea, where I live and ending in Zakopane, in the mountains, where I have a summer house)

Gdańsk - Kazimierz Dolny - Puławy - Nałęczów - Lublin - Kozłówka - Lubartów - Zamość - Jarosław - Łańcut - Zakopane

Poland :)

I'm going to divide the trip for several posts - as the first one goes a charming town Kazimierz Dolny.

Fortunately visited it just before the holiday, allowing us by one day to admire his charm without the crowds of other tourists. Kazimierz Dolny is located at the riverside of Vistula River. Its main development was during Golden Age in Poland (XVI century.), in the Renaissance era. The former splendor is proved by impressive granaries that remained untouched.

Buildings in Kazimierz Dolny were made of local limestone that is easy to shape. Characteristic of Kazimierz are decorative high attics (very characteristic of Polish Renessaince architecture), and numerous Polish-style roofs, like the one below:

Amazing vault of church built in 1586-1589

Synagogue. And the Polish-style roof.

Local specialty - delicious!
